Making the Case, the Human Rights Journal at UC Davis, is pleased to publish its 2014-2015 academic journal. The pieces submitted cover a vast range of issues in the context of human rights. The work of UC Davis students, bring to light these issues in differing creative and thought provoking contributions. As this online journal reflects, the subject of Human Rights needs to be approached in an interdisciplinary manner. All majors and all students were encouraged to participate. In the 2014-2015 edition, you will encounter work submitted by undergraduates and graduates alike. We would like to thank the participants for the time they have taken to interview, record, photograph and reflect on issues that prevail domestically and internationally.

Our hope is that this journal will affect inspiration and effect a greater participation in conversations about Human Rights by our readers. We are all responsible for the dignity, security, and quality of life for our ourselves, as well as our community and beyond.
